Praised by the likes of Bjorn Torske, Pete Herbert, Prins Thomas, Lindstrom and Todd Terje, “Mambo” EP by Slovenian Igor Skafar aka Ichisan is going to be the second release on the Japan Catune imprint.
Juno Review :
Slovenian disco demon Ichisan continues his rich vein of form with three slices of instant cosmic. "Fantazija" is the perfect ice breaker. Thumping like an Idjut Boys track, twinkling like a Kirk Degiorgio tune, it guarantees sweaty participation. "Mambo" is a much groovier affair. Bona fide deep house with a shimmering air, it wouldn't have gone amiss on a Julien Jabre record. Finally we hit "Novi Svet". The sunset cut of the bunch, loaded with glistening nylon strings and spacy arpeggios, it's a Balearic bomb waiting to melt hearts and minds when played at the right time.
Early support from :
Max Essa : Really like these new Ichisan tracks! Mambo is a great 'Energy Disco' piece, definitely will be playing it at the weekend. Also I really like the Adriatic sunset vibes of Novi Set! Full support!
The Beat Broker : the Ichisan tracks are amazing. really into the B side tracks. so good. been listening a lot to them. hoping to include in a future mix.
Julian Sanza, Silver City : more lovely music from our favorites cats, sweet atmospheric yet groovy tunes, definitely a keeper!
Tony Watson, Adult Contemporary : "Fantazija" was rocking my world this weekend.
Ritesh Kumar, Adult Contemporary : Really diggin' the Ichisan EP, Nice tracks. Will be playing 'Fantazia' out for sure.
Sean, Private Agenda : The Ichisan release is killer - amongst our favourites this year. Fantazija is a disco weapon, but we also love the lush arpeggios on Novi Svet. It's beautiful balearica.
Phil Cooper, NuNorthern Soul : I am digging them all and will play across my sets here in Bali…
