"It's always a treat when players meet and 9dw is certainly musical family. 9dw's music exists somewhere in the space between funk, jazz, and electronica. Tight drums and bass lay a nice bed for the clean guitar work and synthesizer experimentation. This album reminds me of the best acid jazz had to offer mixed with the thoughtful and funky electronica of The Cheebacabra or Daft Punk. Clearly a gifted group of musicians that give good reason to be excited about the future of funky hybrid music. Props to the band and thanks for putting slick slap bass, vocoder, and juicy synthesizers together so well, I now consider you honorable competition!"

The new recording from Tokyo's 9dw is a true audio diamond.The tune are slick, subtle, tasteful, organic, modern & funky. This is my kind of music.What I love is the obvious attention to detail: the sounds, textures, arrangements, strong melodies, and carefully crafted layers of interest. To me 9dw sounds like a bit of Steely Dan mixed with the mid-70's era CTI Records catalog (imagine Bob James with fat synths, shorter songs, and modern beats) and a general love of music. Catchy, interesting, and good for dancing.
